The lack of information about the nature of ball lightning did not allow one to reliably state whether the objects obtained belonged to the same class of phenomena to which natural ball lightning belongs. Over the course of two centuries, numerous attempts have been made to obtain ball lightning in the laboratory. However, circulating light is not limited to ball lightnings. We can say that natural ball lightning is an experimental confirmation of the existence of circulating light. In numerous publications, we have shown that the behavior of circulating light in the earth's atmosphere, which follows from the well-known generally recognized laws of optics and physics, completely coincides with the mysterious and intriguing behavior of natural ball lightning, which is evidenced by eyewitnesses. The phenomenon of circulating ordinary incoherent white light in a thin spherical film of air strongly compressed by this light is the basis for the existence of natural ball lightning. We analyze the properties of these objects for the presence of circulating light in them. These objects exist indefinitely as long as there is a continuous electrical current. At the same time, luminous objects have been known for more than a century that arise from a continuous electric current between damp electrodes. However, the lifetime of such objects is, at best, a few seconds.

These are luminous objects produced by an erosive gas discharge that can burn through the thin foil. This is a ball periodically flashing in cold water under the action of a standing spherical acoustic wave. These are liquid balls of silicon that can bounce on a sheet of paper dozens of times. At the same time, there are other objects in which circulating light is present and determines their anomalous properties.

The refractive index of a spherical shell in a form of highly compressed air is greater than that of the surrounding space and the shell is a non-zero curvature light guide that prevents light from being radiated into free space. In our opinion, BL is a thin spherical layer of highly compressed air, in which ordinary white light circulates in all possible directions. The most famous object in the world of circulating light is ball lightning (BL).
